Agricultural Produce Market Committee, Sangamner

The Sangamner Agricultural Produce Market Committee was established on November 19, 1959, and its actual operations began on September 1, 1962. Before August 17, 1988, the market committee's jurisdiction covered two talukas: Sangamner and Akole. The government then divided the Sangamner market committee and established two separate market committees for the Sangamner and Akole talukas. Consequently, the jurisdiction of the Sangamner market committee is now limited to the Sangamner taluka only. A general election for the market committee was held on April 29, 2023, resulting in a democratically elected board of directors taking office. The election for the Chairman and Vice-Chairman was held on May 12, 2023. Mr. Shankarrao Hanmanta Khemnar was elected as Chairman and Mr. Gitaram Dashrath Gaikwad as Vice-Chairman. Currently, Mr. Satish Madhavrao Gunjal is serving as the Secretary of the market committee.
